
About the artist

Greivin A. Salas is an upcoming Costa Rican artist who expresses an intense feeling for the beauty, bounty, and mystery of the landscape of his country. Raised in the natural setting of San Carlos countryside bounded by rivers, forests, animals, plants, and commercial horticulture, his work reflects a unique interpretation of his close connection with the natural world he was born into.

On EARTH Day 2022, Greivin launched a collection of selected 18 pieces entitled The Living Colors: A Journey into the Transformation of Costa Rican Rural Landscapes, available on YouTube. This is a timeless story regarding human migration and occupation of pristine natural landscapes, their ensuing transformation, and much needed conservation today.

In September 2023, deepening his call to conservation, unveiled his second collection entitled Endangered Magical Forests using as a venue the Parliament of Costa Rica.
​
Through his collections the viewer enters the setting of thick, humid forests filled with bursts of tropical sunlight. Most pieces were produced during the pandemic and post pandemic periods (2020 to 2023).

Greivin A. Salas won second place in the global competition called Climate Tech Run 2022 link to COP 27 plus he has been nominated for the Premio Nacional de Artes Visuales Francisco Amighetti 2022 in Costa Rica.
